Crap Carp

The way to stop feeling like a crap carp, and start standing tall to feel the sun's warmth on your magnificent face, like the dande-LION you are, may look like this.

Pick a number from 1 to 10 that represents how you feel.

"I choose you, number two!"  *Melinnial joke*

I feel like a 2.

Now, name three things you must believe about yourself or your life to feel like that number.

  1. "I'm in bad physical shape."
  2. "I keep picking the wrong girl/guy to date."
  3. "I'm wasting my life because I don't have a purpose, a kid,  a million dollars, or ten bitcoins."

Now, put one statement to the test.

Answer the question: "Is it possible this is an opinion, or a temporary state?"

You'll of course say "yes" because you're a predictable human with predictable patterns:)

After you say yes, name a few statements that you would need to believe about yourself or your situation to feel like at least an eight.

To feel like an "8", I would need to believe:

  • I have all my limbs and can still work out and be active, which is nice.
  • I've learned a metric butt-ton ways not to do the fitness thing, which really means I'm that many steps closer to what works. That also means I get back up every time. I'm resiliant AF.
  • Being in or out of shape isn't a permanent condition. Changing for the worse is still a change. I can change again!
  • When I look at places and people around the world, I'm so F'ing lucky to have my shape be my major problem. I kinda have everything at my disposal to make this happen.

Finally, wrap it up and finish this statement:

"The truth is____!"

"The truth is, I can feel down about my shape, but there's no reason to keep feeling down about it! I can start changing my story and ask for support and help right now. The truth is, I can choose: feel worse, or start doing what will make me better, but I can't have both!"

Repeat for the other doopy, false beliefs that have entered your mind.

Now go, dig that garden called life. Ain't nothing good gonna grow unless you plant it!

Have fun,
