Weight Loss Experts Hate Me for This One Sneaky Trick...
Eat more stuff that you can pronounce. Eat less stuff that sounds like bathroom cleaner.
More
Eat more stuff from the ground (rice, greens, tomatoes, carrots, sweet potatoes).
Eat the stuff that ate that stuff (turkey, chickens, deer, bison, cows). You'll feel full and energetic from the nutrients you get. This means less room and desire for quick-fix junk.
Less (bathroom cleaner)
Disclaimer: Have everything in moderation, even moderation, not bathroom cleaner though.
Remember your last sandwich or white burger bun? Here's (some) of what you ate:
Benzoyl peroxide – Used in acne medication.
Potassium bromate – Banned in many countries
Chlorine dioxide gas – Not the exact same as liquid chlorine bleach, but used in very controlled, food-grade quantities.
Azodicarbonamide (ADA) – Used as a flour-bleaching agent and dough conditioner (banned in the EU and Australia, but allowed in the U.S.)
On top of that, bread is basically sugar on steroids with added chemicals.
I'd rather snap into a Slim Jim and chug a Mountain Dew- then I could start taking over the world before crashing in 41 minutes.
Moderation: I'm in Chicago. After yesterday's multi-hour solo visit to the Field Museum to see Dino Skeletons, I got a hot dog on a white bun. Why? Because Chicago. And also my phone had died and I hath brought no charger. In order to navigate from south loop out to the million+ suburban streets to fing my friends house without it? I was going to need some fuel, and outside the Field Museum's entrance there is a Chicago-dog stand. There's always a line, and people smiling with a wiener in their hand. This is Kim & Carlo's Chicago-Style Hot dog stand. Most importantly for me, taped to the pay window is a picture of a brindle dog with a smiling woman. It's the owner and her human, who you will be supporting when you cash app or venmo them, and I'm a sucker for the thought of a dog getting a new toy on my dime.
Everything in moderation.
