Strong in 60 Seconds: “I need to get in shape first” is backwards
“Saying ‘I need to get in shape first’ is like wiping before you poop. My brother in Christ, you’ve got the order backwards.”
Hahah, sometimes I like to throw funnies in these posts. hahaha Please let me know if you pity-laughed for me. hahahaI'm so lonely.
Here’s the truth:
Gyms, trainers, and coaches aren't expecting you to walk in at your peak.
They aren't at theirs either. We're all just building a better life for ourselves.
They’re here to show you how — and not let you get lost.
The idea that you have to “earn” your way into a fitness space is total garbage — and it keeps way too many people stuck on the sidelines.
Here’s the tip:
Start where you are — exactly as you are.
- Winded on warm-ups? Cool.
- Haven’t worked out in 6 years? Fine.
- Nervous? Even better — it means you care.
Showing up out of shape isn’t embarrassing.
It’s brave.
And it’s exactly what we’re here for.
Out of shape? Confused? Slightly terrified? Perfect. [join your people.]
See you at the gym,
Jeff
PS – Most people wait for motivation. You showed up for a blog post. That’s more than a start.
