Strong in 60 Seconds: The first day is the hardest — but worth it.
“Everyone wants to be fit. Few are willing to feel awkward to get there.”
Here’s the truth:
The people you see crushing workouts now?
They all had a day one.
They didn’t walk in confident.
They walked in nervous, self-conscious, and unsure of what to expect — just like you.
If you're like me, you're not scared to start — you're scared to not look perfect.
So don’t look for perfect.
I went line dancing the other week. I HAVE NEVER LINE-DANCED.
But I jumped in the middle of the floor — mid-song — with good dancers all around me.
No one laughed at me.
They laughed with me.
Because I wasn’t trying to look perfect. I was learning — and having a great time doing it.
Here’s the tip:
When you’re scared to start, don’t look for perfect.
Look for support.
Look for coaches who welcome questions.
Look for a gym where beginners are normal.
Look for a first win — not a perfect workout.
You don’t need to be ready.
You need to be willing.
That’s all we ask.
I’ve coached hundreds of people through their first class. [Let’s make yours happen.]
See you at the gym,
Jeff
PS – No one here was born knowing how to snatch, kip, or breathe during burpees. We all started confused and sweating. You’ll fit right in.
