Muscles, Hard Times & Wiping

When you F*ck up. When you fail. When you have an oopsie-daisy...

Immediately start applauding yourself, my friend. You're a contestant on the game show I am also in! You entered by contracting a chronic, terminal condition called "Being Born."

Problems are a sign of life; the only problem most of us have is thinking we shouldn't have any.

"I'm heavier than I want to be. I missed my deadlift PR. I got hooked on PCP again. I got called in to work for an extra 4 hours and missed my workout." *Okay, one of those is odd. Who the hell gets called in for 4 hours?

But life doesn't stop when we feel down about a problem. We have to keep making decisions, and those decisions tend to suck when we make them from a diminished state.

So the next time you run into a setback. Ask this:

"What would I do if I treated this liek the best thing that ever happened to me?"

Break up? It's preparing me to hold my own heart and give rather than expect from my next partner.

Missed the Lift? It's forcing me to take the extra minute of rest I need and learn to ask the coach for help. Or maybe I'll start taking his coaching seriously. lol #idie

Fell off the healthy eating wagon? I'm taking a closer look at why dieting has NEVER worked for me. Is there even a wagon involved here? Is this the Oregon Trail? Both do have dysentery. Maybe changing a habit or two at a time would work slower but better...which is actually faster than starting and stopping for the rest of my damn life. #whoknew?

Who would you rather practice being? How would that feel?

Cultivate being someone who believes they will find a way.

Belief and a positive mental attitude (PMA) don't come AFTER good stuff happens. That would be like expecting to become strong before lifting weights. Cmon fam, that's like wiping before you poop.

We also can't decide only to keep a PMA when things go our way. That works as well as 2-in-1 shampoo + conditioner. And shampoo with built-in conditioner works like food with built-in toilet paper.

I digress.

The greatest muscle we will ever develop is intention.

We intentionally love.

We intentionally preserve.

We intentionally choose how we show up.

Muscle doesn't come from easy times.

Muscles don't even come from hard times.

Muscles are built when times are hard, and we continue working anyway.
